I’ve been writing about heartaches and my favorite bands since my first diary with a padlock. Writing helped me process feelings about a budding crush, growing up in a divorced family, or when my home was robbed in 7th grade I learned early that writing about what you know and sharing it with others has lots of benefits, including being grounded in a reality only you can tell. 

I write and make comedy out of hard things. As I continue to perform my shows, my life expands, heals, and grows. Sharing stories in community builds social bonds, supports better health, changes legacy.

Whether writing essays, scripts, working in writer's and comedy rooms, creative pitches or on speeches, I believe in writing in the world with others. Sketch comedies about besties, solo shows about Dad’s bird feeder obsessions, stand-up about my love of lifeguards, a dialogue-rich scene in a hospital room may start on a walk with trees or in a chatty water aerobics class.

Currently in progress: a feature screenplay about a chosen family road trip across the country to confront an estranged family member. Casting wish list: Kathryn Hahn, Roberta Colindrez, Lolly Adefope, Paulina Alexis, Michelle Buteau.
